Sommerro is centrally located at Solli Plass, in Sommerrogata 1. Just steps away are many of the city's major attractions, including the iconic Frogner Park, Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Oslo Opera House, Tjuvholmen, and the MUNCH Art Museum. A stone's throw away is the National Theatre station, providing access to buses, trains, trams, and the underground metro (T-bane).
ARRIVING FROM OSLO AIRPORT (OSL)
- By Train
Taking the train is the fastest and most environmentally friendly way to reach us.
The Airport Express Train (Flytoget): Departs every 10 or 20 minutes from the airport terminal. Take the train bound for Drammen or Asker and disembark at Nationaltheatret Station (approximately a 26-minute journey).
Vy Regional Trains: A slightly cheaper alternative, the standard R12, R13, or RE10 trains also run frequently from OSL to Nationaltheatret.
From Nationaltheatret to Sommerro:
👟 Walking: Take the Henrik Ibsens gate exit. From there, it is a scenic 7-minute walk (approx. 500 meters) up Henrik Ibsens gate directly to Solli Plass.
🚋 Tram: Alternatively, take Tram 13 or 15 from Nationaltheatret and get off at Solli, just one stop away.
- By Taxi
If you prefer a direct drive from the airport, taxis are available right outside the arrivals hall. We highly recommend using Oslo Taxi (Call 02323 or use their app) for reliable service and fixed airport rates.
Travel Tip: Avoid accepting rides from drivers waiting outside the designated taxi ranks to ensure fair pricing. The drive typically takes 40–50 minutes depending on traffic.
ARRIVING BY CAR
Navigating downtown Oslo can be tricky due to one-way streets and pedestrian zones. Follow these directions for a smooth arrival.
Driving Directions
1. Follow the E6 highway toward Oslo Sentrum.
2. Find the exit for E16 (Sentrum V/Ring 1) after the Operatunnelen.
3. Follow the signs toward Nationaltheatret, keeping onto Henrik Ibsens gate.
4. Continue straight up Henrik Ibsens gate until you reach the roundabout at Solli Plass. Sommerro will be prominently on your right.
Parking & VALET PARKING
We recommend the Solli P-hus indoor parking garage, located just around the corner:
- Address: Solli gate 3
- Capacity: 240 parking spaces (including 20 EV charging stations)
- Payment: Managed via the EasyPark app (Garage code available at the facility)
Valet Parking Service: We offer a 24-hour parking service for NOK 995,- per 24h, from 3:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Contact us at info@sommerrohouse.com to make a reservation in advance. EV charging is included.
GETTING AROUND
Sommerro is exceptionally well-connected. Right outside our doorstep at Solli Plass, you can catch multiple bus and tram lines. For the underground metro (T-bane) and regional trains, Nationaltheatret Station is a 7-minute stroll away.
