Vestkantbadet opened in 1932 as a sanctuary for health, wellbeing, and neighbourhood life, designed by architects Bjerke and Eliassen in the Art Deco style. After five years of meticulous restoration, the bathhouse reopened in 2023 as part of Sommerro and is today one of Norway’s most important examples of Art Deco interiors. From the original tiles and changing cabinets to Per Krohg’s monumental mosaic wall, every detail has been preserved in the protected Sommerro building.

Today, Vestkantbadet offers a modern oasis for peace and reflection, with a pool, cold plunge, Finnish sauna, and IR sauna, as well as treatment rooms offering a wide range of health and wellness services, including cosmetic treatments in collaboration with LaserLegene. The reception also features a selection of wellness products, gifts, and gift cards.

Vestkantbadet is a living piece of history where the elegance of the 1930s meets a modern focus on wellbeing and tranquillity.

We have a unique partnership with Laserlegene who offer well documented and effective medical cosmetic treatments with an international standard at Vestkantbadet. Our goal is naturally beautiful results. We use the newest technology in laser treatment, as well as cosmetic injections, skin analysis and skin health programs.

Our 400 square meter gym is open for members of Vestkantbadet and hotel guests. The gym has extraordinary facilities, and our skilled personal trainers are ready to motivate you to achieve new goals.

You will find our Wellness Boutique at the Vestkantbadet reception. The boutique is full of skin and body care from well-known suppliers. We also sell the extra thick Sommerro bathrobes designed by Abate, slippers from Astrid Andreassen and several other products for anyone who wants to take the Sommerro feeling home.
